Dear Allen Students & Parents,
I miss all of you and hope each and every one of you are doing great. I miss seeing all your smiling faces in the halls and am looking forward to being back together soon. My pups and three teenagers are keeping me busy. I am also biking and running daily!
All K-5 students have access to CODE.org through their Clever Badge. They have all been assigned a course and all students have been on Code.org during PLTW classes. It is a coding platform and is self-paced. Lessons and hints can be revealed by clicking on the light bulbs in each lesson. This is not mandatory and can be used as an enrichment only if you like. Below are enrichment activities for the week of March 23rd. Have fun! I can be reached by email from 10:00 AM-7:00 PM every day of the week. Please reach out for anything you may need and I will respond promptly.
Best Regards,
Ms. Heraud

Young 5s and Kindergarten: Pushes and Pulls and Structure and Function
Build a tower out of plastic cups or paper cups. Toss some different things at it. Can you knock it down? What if you toss a ball of paper at it? What if you toss something heavier, like a kitchen sponge or a bouncy ball at it? Does it make a difference whether you hit the tower higher up or lower down? Draw pictures of two towers and add labels. You can use words like soft or hard or heavy or light.
